In the face of the stark existential challenges confronting the citizenry of Nigeria, a trado-medical practitioner and an emerging philanthropist, Dr Udo Dickson has pledged to use his privileges and opportunities to rescue the people of Iyuku-Uzairue, Etsako-West local government area of Edo State from biting poverty.
Udo Dickson , scion of the famous late educationist and herbalist, Dr Oshioregbemeh Edeifo (Domini Pa) daily solves such health challenges as pile, barrenness, blood pressure management, diabetes just to mention a few, for his people who throng his palatial mansion in Iyuku from far and near.
“I inherited it from my father who also got his knowledge of the taping and administration of herbs from his father” the 37 year old man told this Reporter in an interaction.
When ExpressDay Newspaper visited his place, many people were seen milling around and waiting for their turn to consult Dr Udo Dickson.
“The efficacy of his medicine brought me here. I came from lokoja just to thank for what he has done for me”, a Lady who simply identified herself as Ann said.
Investigation reveals that Dickson has found prosperity in the practice and uses his wealth to give welfare to the old and feeble ones in the society.
Asked the reason behind the philanthropic gesture, Dr Udo Dickson revealed that he is actually a young community leader with political aspirations.
“As a matter of fact, I won election in ward 9 as a Councillor but the former Governor, Godwin Obaseki did not allow us to be sworn in.
Continuing, he said, ” I believe its grassroot development that translates into national development at the end of the day. I’m a local man and politics is essentially local. Hence I want to be the next Councilor of this ward “,
