Ebonyi dismisses video on alleged attack of herdsmen

Ebonyi State Government has said that the video recording currently circulating on social media on alleged attack of herdsmen in the State by Eastern Security Network was the handwork of evil men who do not mean well for the State.
The state Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Hon. Orji Uchenna Orji, in a statement said the video was fake, and that such incident did not happen in any part of the State.
He called on the public to disregard the said video, reiterating that it was the handwork of mischief makers and enemies of peace and development of the state.
“Our attention has been drawn to a video circulating on social media and  giving an impression that a group called Eastern Security Network  was chasing away Fulani herdsmen and burning their  shelters in a settlement in Ebonyi State.

“We wish to state categorically that no such incident occurred in any part of Ebonyi State. The claims of these mischief makers are monstrously untrue,  unfounded and malicious. It is a notorious fact that the enemies of  peace and development enjoyed in the state under the current administration are hell-bent on fanning the embers of ethnic disunity and societal disharmony to satisfy their own parochial interest.
“Members of the public are enjoined to disregard this trending video as one of the antics of unpatriotic elements who don’t mean well for  our dear State and the nation,” he said.
