A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Evelyn Oboro has advised Christians all over the world to draw closer to God in prayer to help them in this pandemic trial as they celebrate Easter.
Oboro who represented Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency at the House Reps and PDP, Delta Central Senatorial candidate in the last elections,
charged Christian bodies and well meaningful Deltans to take into consideration the welfare of the less privileged and vulnerable in the society especially at this covid-19 stay at home directives by the government.
Oboro gave the advice in a press release signed by her Media and Publicity Director, Hon. Sunday Apah.
She said the advice was because Easter is a period when Christians come together to mark the ultimate sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ for mankind in his death and resurrection.
Oboro who is also the Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on DESOPADEC Matters, stressed that Easter was a period when Christians across the world celebrated God’s profound sacrifice for mankind in the unspeakable sufferings of His son to give us Salvation.
According to her: “We are at a trying times as a country and as a State, COVID-19 has tested our faith as never before but as Christians we should never be discouraged by the current reality of the pandemic.
“Easter is also a season for sober reflection on our lives and the renewal of our personal covenant with God and our relationship with our family and friends, no time in humanity that is more vividly reminded of the significance of sacrifice to human progress and advancement in all facets of life than the Easter period”, Oboro stated.
She noted that every Easter, the entire Christendom is forced to recall that salvation is a product of priceless sacrifice, as she urged Christians to devote time to reflect on our relationship with neighbours and the personal sacrifices that must all must make to create a better society for themselves and children yet unborn.
