The Afiesere community of Ughelli North local government area of Delta state, on Monday, elected Mr. Richard Ovwreghederohwo (aka Aduvie) as its new president.
The election which was conducted by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr. Thomas Ezewu, saw the emergence of new executive members for the community.
Other members of the new executives are: Chief Shikaleke Okiemute (Vice President), Mr. Lucky Oleya (Secretary General), Mr. Matthew Otuokena (Treasurer), Mr. Lucky Ikporo (P.R.O), Mr. Philip Ukpokpo (Asst. Secretary), Mr. Joseph Odoko (Organizing Secretary), Mr. Sunday Igbudu (Financial Secretary), Mr Francis Obire (Internal Auditor), Mr. Attwood Obire (Ex-Official), Mr. Ovuoke Eghwrudjakpor (Ex – Official), and Mr. Anthony Ejovi (Ex – Official).
Others are: Mr Daniel Oshebinama (Ex – Official), Mr Gabson Iloloje ( Ex – Official) and Mr Augustine Emosivwe (Ex – Official)
Speaking after the elections, Mr. Ezewu commended the President of Afiesere community, Mr. Victor Otumemine for providing all necessary documents and information for a hitch free election.
On his part, the President elect, Mr Ovwreghederohwo in his acceptance speech thanked the out-going executive under the leadership of Otumemine for providing enabling environment for the election.
He promised to run an open door policy when Otumemine officially hands over mantle of leadership to him on the 12th of August, 2020.
Also speaking, Otumemine thanked the electoral committee, the security agents and other members of the community for peaceful election.
