National Assembly members from Ebonyi state have turned their backs on Governor Dave Umahi who on Tuesday announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), telling him that they will remain in the main opposition party.
The State’s National Assembly Caucus led by former governor of state, Sen. Sam Egwu, addressed a press conference on Wednesday dissociating themselves from the governor’s move.
All the lawmakers from the state however agreed that it is the turn of the south East to produce the president of the country as noted by Umahi and therefore expressed their hope that both main political parties in the country will adhere to it.
