The Transcorp Power Limited has donated food items and hand sanitizers)
worth millions of Naira to its host communities in Ughelli North and Ughelli South local government areas of Delta State to cushion the hardship induced by Covid-19 pandemic.
Delivering the items meant for Ughelli North council area to the Chairman, Hon. Godwin Adode at the Council Secretariat, the Transcorp’s Plant Manager, Mr. Peters Ahmed said, “we know the pains our host communities and council areas are passing through, the effects of the lockdown and stay-at-home ordered by Federal Government and Delta State Government to avoid the spread of the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.
“We as a company we considered it as expedient to identify with the host communities and council areas because many of the people do not have to eat at this time, that is why we decided to support them.
“This is the manifestation that Transcorp Power Limited has identified with the people of the local government area and our host communities at the time of the lockdown which has impacted seriously on the economic values, and we know that the poorest among the poor actually have more negative impact, what we present today is to provide food on table of the people and to prevent further spread of the pandemic”.
The items donated to Ughelli North council area are 240 bags of rice and 100 bottled of hand sanitizers.
While receiving the items, the council boss, Chief Adode assured Transcorp Power Limited of getting the items to the rightful people who are negatively impacted with the hardship induced by the lockdown.
“The items will be shared to the rightful people in the council area who are negatively impacted with COVID-19 lockdown”, he stated.
