Nigeria’s confirmed cases of Covid-19 topped 15,000 on Friday with 627 new cases announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Lagos with 229 new cases is now closer to 7,000 confirmed cases. The FCT and Kano have recorded over a thousand cases.
A breakdown of the new cases are:
Lagos-229, FCT-65, Abia-54, Borno-42, Oyo-35, Rivers-28, Edo-28, Gombe-27, Ogun-21, Plateau-18, Delta-18, Bauchi-10, Kaduna-10, Benue-9, Ondo-8, Kwara-6 and Nasarawa-4.
Others are: Enugu-4, Sokoto-3, Niger-3, Kebbi-3 with Yobe and Kano reporting one new case each.
The new cases brought national tally of Covid-19 cases to
15,181 confirmed. So far 4,891 patients have been successfully treated and discharged.
399 deaths have been recorded with 34 deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
