The Nasarawa State Government has completed the renovation of four isolation centres in Karu, Keffi, Kokona and Lafia local government areas of the State.
The state Governor, Abdullahi Sule, disclosed this at a security meeting in Lafia on Tuesday.
He revealed that the state had so far received 6,000 units of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and 50,000 facemasks and that the four monitors donated by Access Bank, Lafia branch, was also received yesterday.
This is even as the recent case of the Covid-19 recorded in the state is said to be a courier driver with Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) who had been conveying Covid-19 patients from Abuja, but lives in Ado, Karu Local Government Area of the state.
Karu Local government area shares boundary with Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to Governor Sule, 74 contacts of the late member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly who died of the Covid-19 have been traced and that they will be isolated along with the immediate family of the deceased.
“We have also taken samples of most of the State Assembly members who are under self- isolation.
“As a government we are making great stride in those high-risk local governments areas including Karu, Kokona, Lafia and Obi.
“We are thinking of including Keffi, because the late House of Assembly member had contacts with so many people apart from the remaining 23 members of the State Assembly,” the governor said.
