The Nasarawa State Commissioner of  Information, Mr Dogo Shammah, has confirmed that out of the 13 commissioners whose samples were collected for Covid-19 test,  seven, including the State Head of Service (HoS), Mr Abare Nicholas, have received their results.

Mr Shammah who has been on self-isolation at home due to the positive status of one of the commissioners last week, said that all the other cabinet members of the state government went into isolation and had their samples collected to be tested.

He made this known on Friday in a telephone conversion with our correspondent.

According to him, when the status of the Attorney General of the state  was declared, all the commissioners in the state were advised to be on isolation.

He, however, noted that the results of six members of the cabinet, was received on Wednesday including the HoS and later on Thursday his own was received which came out negative.

“As I speak with you I am still indoor at home, the deputy governor called me last night to congratulate me of my result which clearly came out negative.

“I am praying and hoping that the remaining results of my colleagues, come out negative, as our expectations but until then, for now, I can authoritatively tell you that seven of us out of the 13 commissioners in the state have tested negative of the virus,” he explained.

It would be recalled that last week, the Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Abdulkarim Kana, tested positive of the coronavirus disease and have since been on isolation.

ExpressDay reports that while the disease is on the rise in the state, a significant success has also been recorded as over 130 persons who earlier tested positive have been treated and discharged with eight deaths so far recorded.
