Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Lafia, has made provision for 110-bed space isolation centre, and is to train medical personnel of the hospital to professionally handle Covid-19 cases should the need arise.
It can be recalled that Nasarawa State is among the few states of the country that have not recorded any confirmed Covid-19 case.
In an interview with Expressday on Monday, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Dr. Hassan Ikrama, disclosed that the hospital has made provision for adequate manpower, equipment and a well-equipped isolation centre in case the state records any confirmed Covid-19 case.
“With respect to the Coronavirus, we are prepared ahead of any outbreak in the state. Already our team of medical doctors are training all our medical staff.
“We have also made provision for a 110 space in our isolation center well-equipped and we have applied for the supply of more equipment.
“Even if we have an overwhelming situation, we have the capacity to handle it. I can assure you that our medical team is fully prepared to confront the disease if it showed up in our state”, he stated.
