Covid-19 lockdown: Police arrest 10 suspects for mounting illegal roadblock

Ten suspects have been arrested by the security operatives of the COVID-19 lockdown enforcement for mounting illegal road block in Nyanya-Mararaba axis of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The team was led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Nyanya Division.

The suspects, according to a statement by the FCT Command spokesman, Manzah Anjuguri, used the avenue to extort money from motorists and other members of the public at the FCT/Nasarawa boundary.

The suspects, according to the statement, include Idoko Rapheal, Obi Robert, Augustine Aber, Rapheal Ikyaabo, Stephen Ikpi, Omachola Uranje, Remigius Gosioha, Dyke Ifeanyi, Chinedu Nwoyi and Uzoma Mbadoha all male.

Recovered from the suspects was N7,180, suspected to be proceeds of the crime.

The suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation, the police added.
