Entertainer and showbiz promoter, Mr. Louis Ojevwe Atufe, has splashed over N500,000 on vulnerable persons in Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
Louis, also known as 2runs, said his organisation decided to support the people, mostly the aged, less privileged and disabled as the effect of Covid-19 lockdown was having untold hardship on the people.
The cash gift was shared among sixty persons. Forty persons received N10,000 while another twenty got N5,000 to serve as palliative for the lockdown period.
Speaking to newsmen after the disbursement, Aitufe assured the people of his continuous support, saying his NGO, 2RUNS Concept and Charity Organisation, is focused on providing for the needy and has been doing charity work round the community and beyond.
He said: “I still remember vividly, after our first and second Face of Texas event, I, the pioneer queen, Miss Precious Afe and the second queen miss Ataighwre Jennifer went round Orerokpe Market to give out clothes and shoes, we also donated food items, cash and clothes to Dominion Orphanage home, Ovu Inland in Ethiope East LGA, Delta State.
“We also gave out notebooks and other writing materials to schools in Orerokpe, plans are also in top gear to continue the free distribution of books as soon as Schools resumed after the Covid 19 saga. It is our culture to give out alms to people at the end of our yearly pageant”, Loius stated.
He therefore, urged the people to abide by the rules of stay at home and stay safe as ordered by the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, he also advice the people to keep social distance to stay alive, as the corona virus is not a scam but real.
