Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and wife, Edith, are going into isolation as one of their daughters has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Governor announced this on his official Twitter handle this Friday morning.
He wrote: “Earlier today, Edith and I received the news that one of our daughters has tested positive for #COVID19. Hence, in line with the laid out procedures, we are both going into isolation for the next 14-days.
“We will continue to keep you all updated”.
Delta has seen a spike in confirmed Covid-19 cases, reporting 106 new cases in the past 24 hours. The State now has 715 confirmed cases of Covid-19.
The State was among the first to impose stiff lockdown measures in April with schools, markets and worship centres ordered to close.
The lifting of the measures has seen the rise of the Covid-19 cases in State.
