The Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has ahead of school’s resumption invented one ventilator with an attached pulse system.
The polytechnic, took advantage of the Coronavirus outbreak to venture into production of disinfectant tunnel fused with a mechanically operated sanitizer, as well as mass production of face masks and hand sanitizers.
The management of Polytechnic are confident that the institution will offer best regulatory measures when schools reopen.
Rector of the institution, Dr. (ESV) Abbdullahi Alhassan Ahmed, who took journalists round the department of Electrical Electronics, explained that the institution was poised to doing more.
Ahmed disclosed that the polytechnic also produced a 10 KVA solar system with 9,600 watts, powered by 10 kilo watts inverter that supplies power to the electrical, electronic department.
The institution also produced hand washing machines with special features to dispense hand sanitizer, set to be distributed to classes and various departments.
The rector said: “We are working gradually to build a standard isolation centre in case of an outbreak of COVID-19 or any other disease in the school.
“We lack nothing and will to the best of the support we received delved into technological invention.”
He commended President Buhari, the Federal Minister of Education, Governing Council, staff and students who gave him all the necessary support to succeed.
“As you can see the school is well prepared for student’s resumption, with what we have on ground to curtail sudden out brake of COVID-19 or any other disease,” he said.
