With 555 new cases of Covid-19 reported on Sunday, Nigeria’s confirmed cases have crossed the 40,000 mark.
According to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the number of officially confirmed deaths due to Covid-19 is now 858.
The confirmed new cases bring the total to 40,532.
The breakdown of the cases showed that Lagos continues to be the epi-centre with a total of 14,456 cases after reporting 156 new cases on Sunday.
Kano recorded 65 new cases, Ogun-57, Plateau-54, Oyo-53, Benue-43, FCT-30, Ondo-18, Kaduna-16 and Akwa Ibom-13.
Others are Gombe-13, Rivers-12, Ekiti-9, Osun-8, Cross River-3, Borno-2, Edo-2 and Bayelsa-1
NCDC on its verified Twitter handle also reported that 17,374 patients have been discharged after successful treatment.
