Propelled by the need to effectively curtail the spread of Coronavirus within Delta State, the Isoko North Local Government Council Chairman, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor has embarked on face masks distribution to traders in the various markets in the council area.
Speaking at Ozoro market, Egbabor who was accompanied by the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr Kome Ozue and other officials, said the distributions was part of the measures to curtail the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic in the local government.
In his words: “The face masks distribution is in line with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa directives to make the use of face masks compulsory for residents in the State as part of measures to check the spread of COVID-19″.
Hon Egbabor added that the council has distributed face masks to the 13 Wards in the Local Government Area, National Union of Road Transport Workers Isoko North chapter, Association of Keke/Okada riders, Vigilantes groups, workers in all Primary Health Care Centres in Isoko North, all Council Staff and all teachers in primary schools through the Local Education Authority.
“We have also distributed to Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Muslims groups, Association of Non-indigenes in Isoko North, Persons with Disabilities, Traditional Rulers, Association of Market Women/Men, The Nigeria Police Force, Ozoro Division, Otor-Owhe Division, Ozoro Area Command, DSS, the Army, the Butchers Association, among others.”
Hon Egbabor further stressed that they have distributed face mask to the various groups, and that he personally decided to take the face masks distribution to all markets in Isoko North Local Government to ensure that no one is left out.
