The Director-General of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) in Nigeria, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu has been quarantined for 14 days over possible infection of Coronavirus.
Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, who disclosed this on Tuesday while updating the Senate on the activities of his ministry to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the country, explained that Ihekweazu went into self-isolation because he just returned from China.
Ehanire said it was the standard practice for those who just returned from China, where the disease broke out in December, to be quarantined.
According to reports the NCDC boss is under self-quarantine at his residence.
