
Thirty-one deaths were recorded on Sunday from Covid-19 as national tally topped 20,000 for the first time.
The lifting of the lockdown has seen surge in the number of new cases especially in Lagos, Delta and the FCT.
Figures provided by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday night showed that 436 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded bringing the total to 20,244 confirmed cases.
A breakdown of the new cases according to states showed that Lagos had Lagos-169, Oyo-52, Plateau-31, Imo-29, Kaduna-28, Ogun-23, FCT-18, Enugu-18, Bauchi-17, Bayelsa-14, Rivers-8, Osun-6, Kano-6, Edo-5, Benue-5, and Adamawa-3.
Others are Borno-2, Abia-1 and Ekiti-1.
NCDC also reported that 6,879 patients have been discharged after successful treatment.
Total Covid-19 related deaths were reported as 518, with 31 occuring in the past 24 hours.
