The Plateau State Commissioner of Health, Dr Nimkong Ndam Lar, has disclosed that the Chinese citizens who are in the state for mining activities have gone into self-isolation.

He further revealed that they have been subjected to clinical investigation and no symptom of the Coronavirus was discovered in them.

This is against the backdrop of the rumours making the rounds in a section of the media that four Chinese citizens are currently being quarantine for testing positive for coronavirus.

The rumour, the commissioner said, is unfounded, malicious and not true.

According to him: ” There is no symptoms of Corona virus in the four Chinese citizens earlier suspected to be carrying the disease in Wase, Plateau State.”

He clarified that in the meantime, the Chinese citizens will be kept under observation for 14 days while the state government will be meeting over the matter with the view of putting measures on ground to prevent possible outbreak of the disease in the state.

Dr. Lar however, admonished residents of Plateau State to maintained good hygiene by ensuring that they wash their hands regularly.

He further called on well -meaning Nigerians to disregard the rumours making round as, according to him, the state government through the health ministry is not resting on it oars to ensure that residents of the state are safe.
