- Buhari orders security chiefs ...

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday ordered the nation’s security chiefs to identify bandits, kidnappers and their sponsors and “take them out”.

Presiding over a security meeting at the Aso Rock Villa, Buhari also warned them that a situation in which bandits and kidnappers are dictating the pace in the fight against insecurity would no longer be tolerated.
The National Security Adviser, (NSA) Babagana Monguno, who briefed State House Correspondents after the meeting, quoted the president as having directed that the armed forces should henceforth be proactive, rather than reactionary.
The NSA added that Buhari insisted that all the decisions approved at the National Security Council meeting last month, including a ban on mining activities in Zamfara State, as well as no-fly zone there remain enforced until further notice to curb the rising insecurity in the State.
