President Muhammadu Buhari and the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, have been commended by the Ovu Development Union over the appointment of Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh as the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun, Delta State.
Ovu is a community in Agbon Clan, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The ODU also commended the out gone Vice Chancellor, Prof. Akaehomen Okonigbon lbhadode, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Shehu Zuru and others on the appointment of Prof. Rim-Rukeh.
The union in a statement by its President General, Chief Pius Idoghor, 1st Vice PG, Chief John Omoware and Secretary-General, Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel E. Oniyama on behalf of the Ovu Council of Chiefs and Elders and the entire Ovu community, congratulated Prof. Rim-Rukeh on his new appointment.
The community expressed appreciation to President Buhari, Sen. Omo-Agege and a host of others for their roles and contribution in the appointment of their illustrious son.
While congratulating Prof. Rim-Rukeh on his appointment as the 4th FUPRE’s Vice Chancellor, the union also expressed confidence that his new assignment as Vice Chancellor of FUPRE will attract development and academic excellence to the institution considering his pedigree.
