The Bayelsa State House of Assembly now has a new Speaker and other principal officers.
Hon. Abraham Ingobere, is now the new Speaker.
This is following the resignation of Rt. Hon. Obolo Bubou.
Other new Principal Officers elected by the Assembly members in a session presided over by the new Speaker, include member, representing Ekeremor III, Michael P. Ogbere, as Deputy Speaker.
The development, according to findings by ExpressDay, followed the inauguration of Governor Douye Diri, who is from the same Bayelsa Central Senatorial District as Bubou-Obolo.
On the other hand, Rt. Hon. Monday Obolo Bubou Edwin, member representing Silga-2, has been elected Majority Leader. The position of Deputy Leader goes to Hon. Col. Bernard Kenbai, member, representing Salga-3, while Hon. Ebiuwou Koku Obiyai, representing Yenagoa-2 was elected as Chief Whip.
Hon. Gibson Munalayefa, representing Ogbia-2 , got the position of Deputy Chief Whip.
