The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar has charged students on academic excellence and moral rectitude on the occasion of the 5th convocation ceremony of a contiguous higher institution- Edo State University, Uzairue.

A news release made available to ExpressDay on Saturday quoted Dr. Umar as urging the graduands to be “leaders who inspire, collaborate and create opportunities for other to succeed”. This is as he extolled the pioneering efforts of the Vice Chancellor, Professor (Engr) E. Aluyor in setting the relatively young university on the path of enduring academic exploits.

“It is with immense pride that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Edo State University, Uzairue, and every graduate on the occasion of the 5th convocation ceremony. This is a momentous occasion, a celebration of knowledge, perseverance, and dedication.

“To all the graduates, you have all worked tirelessly, overcoming countless challenges and obstacles to reach this milestone in your academic journey. Your commitment to education, your thirst for knowledge, and your unwavering determination have brought you to this very moment of triumph. Today, we gather to honor your achievements and recognize the tremendous potential that lies within each one of you.

“As we all know, Edo State University, Uzairue, has always been driven by a mission to provide quality education and to foster an environment that nurtures innovation, critical thinking, and personal growth.

“I congratulate the Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. E. Aluyor and the entire management, staff, and students of Edo State University, Uzairue on this special occasion. Over the years, they have strived to create a platform for students to explore their passions, hone their skills, and emerge as well-rounded individuals ready to make a positive impact on society.

“As you embark on your respective paths, remember to embrace integrity, compassion, and empathy. Uphold the values that you have imbibed during your time at Edo State University, Uzairue, and use your knowledge and skills to uplift those around you.

“Be leaders who inspire, collaborate, and create opportunities for others to succeed. Remember that success is not measured by personal achievements alone but by the positive impact, we have on our communities and the world at large”, he said.
