The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi in Edo State, Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar, says it is crucial to improve instructional methods ensure effective training of officers and men of the Nigerian Army.

A media release about the lecture read in part, “I am truly honoured to have had the opportunity to deliver a lecture on “Improving Instructional Methods in Nigerian Army School of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering” as part of the tentative programme for the Year 2024 Training The Trainers Workshop. It has been a privilege to share my insights and knowledge with such a distinguished audience.

“Instructional design is the systematic approach to creating engaging and impactful learning experiences. It involves the careful planning and implementation of learning activities, materials, and assessment strategies to achieve specific learning objectives. In the context of the Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NASEME), it is crucial to continuously improve instructional methods to ensure that the training is effective and meets the needs of students.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Commandant of NASEME, Major General O.O. Arogundade, for his support and encouragement in organizing this workshop and allowing me to contribute to the professional development of the trainers. His commitment to enhancing the quality of education and training at NASEME is truly commendable, and it has been a pleasure to collaborate with him and his team.

“As we move forward, I urge all of us to continue working together to implement the principles of effective instructional design in our training programmes. By doing so, we can better equip our trainers with the knowledge and skills they need to deliver high-quality education and training to the students at NASEME. I am confident that by embracing the latest advancements in instructional methods, we can create a learning environment that is both engaging and effective, ultimately leading to the development of highly skilled and competent professionals in the field of electrical and mechanical engineering within the Nigerian Army.
