Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar on Sunday confirmed that his son has tested positive to the coronavirus pandemic currently spreading across the world.
in a tweet, Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections, urged Nigerians to pray for his son, who has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment.
The tweet reads: “My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real. -AA”
President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter had last week been placed on self isolation after she returned from the United Kingdom, while her mother, the First Lady, immediately shut her her office and sent all non-essential home.
Nigeria has so far confirmed 30 cases of the disease, four of which are in Abuja.
