The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Abayomi Oyebanji, has been declared winner of the 2022 Ekiti State Governorship election.
The election, which took place on Saturday, saw the party winning the polls in 15 out of 16 Local Government Areas of the State.
Oyebanji polled 187, 057 votes to beat his closest rival, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who got 82, 211 votes.
Bisi Kolawole of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 67, 457 votes to place a distance third position.
The election however, witnessed a low turnout of voters, while bote buying was recorded in some instances. It was adjudged to be generally peaceful.
