As the race for the Edo Governorship election hots up, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC),High Chief Talib Musa aka Chief Sahara has posited that clinching success at the polls by the APC candidate, Senator Monday Okpewholo is the most realistic permutation to make, adding that his platform, records of performance, the persona of the individual makes it almost rocket science that APC will produce the next Governor of Edo State.
Analysing the political mood in Edo State on Friday in a telephone chat with Expressday, the Okpella born APC stalwart stated that the opposition has not done what will make the electorate want to return People’s Democratic party (PDP) to Government House in Benin.
“Conversely, APC is working and the people are witnessing the democracy dividends. Our leader, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole opened up Edo North, nay all of Edo State. He has set the template”.
Furthermore, Chief Sahara said, ” Right now the dilapidated federal road running through Edo State, which opposition neglected is being fixed by APC”.
Continuing, the respected political leader said the project was neglected by PDP government but influenced by Senator Oshiomhole and the governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpewholo.
The Edo high Chief averred that the Tinubu government is particularly interested in Edo Governorship election and in making sure that the renewed hope agenda rubs off positively on the heart beat of the nation.
“Considering the bunch of corruption in our country today the party in the federal picks any state they are interested in. President Tinubu is so much interested in Edo. It’s a game you must understand before you pinch a tent”, Chief Sahara posited.
Edo Governorship election comes up September 21, 2024 and electioneering campaigns have commenced in keeping with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
