Anxiety and palpable tension has gripped some political appointees of Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, following reports of an imminent cabinet shake-up.
Most of them were appointed one year ago; and sources in the hierarchy of government confided in ExpressDay that some Commissioners and heads of agencies in the State are likely to be dropped.
ExpressDay also gathered that the likely persons to be affected by the shakeup will be those that had earlier served the State in different capacities.
While some may be redeployed based on their track records under the one-year administration of Engr Sule, others are however, expected to be sacked.
Among those that are rumoured to faxe imminent sack are two commissioners for effective cut in cost of governance.
Reliable sources reveal that the Governor may also drop the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
One source close to the Government House in Lafia, revealed that a replacement of the SSG has already been contacted but could not disclose who and from where.
This particular case may not be unconnected to the State House of Assembly probe of the SSG over his alleged role in schools project execution, while for the commissioners, their removal from office could be as a result of lack of clear cut functions of duties.
Another office that is likely to be affected is that of the Director-General, Strategic Communication and Press Affairs to the governor.
The shakeup is expected to be effected this week to enable the government move forward on it drive for good governance.
ExpressDay recalls that Governor Sule appointed 15 commissioners last year, few months after 29th of May when he assumed office as Governor of the State.
