Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has been appointed the new Emir of Kano, to replace Lamido Sanusi, who was dethroned by Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, earlier today.
The new monarch is the son of Sanusi’s predecessor, and until his appointment, was the Emir of Bichi, in Kano State.
A statement from the Kano government said that: “Aminu Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi and the son of the late Emir Ado Bayero, emerges as the new Kano Emir after the dethronement of Muhammadu Sanusi II.
“This was officially announced in the presence of the Kano Emirate kingmakers and other stakeholders at Ante Chamber, Government House, Kano.”
The statement was issued by Abba Anwar, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State.
Meanwhile, Sanusi is reported to be hearing for Nasarawa State where it is believed the State Government has decided to restrain him to.
