In an inspiring reenactment of cross cultural exchanges which “Nigeria so seriously needs to free herself from nepotism and ethnocentrism”, the families of James Zinga of the southern part of Kaduna State and John Emeanna of Owerri, Imo State will be bringing themselves permanently together on account of the marriage between Esther and Bright which will be formalised as holy matrimony on December 9 in Abuja.
ExpressDay Newspaper learnt that both the fathers of the bride and groom have departed this world.
In a chat with this reporter, Bright whose native name is Chinedun said Esther is the love of his life.
“Esther is the love of my life. She is home to me. I don’t care that she is not Igbo. She makes me feel at home and steers me towards Nigeria.
“I’m based in Spain. After our wedding on December 9, I will decide as she chooses whether we will relocate to Madrid together or stay here”, the groom enthused.
The invitation a copy of which was made available to Expressday indicates that the solemnization will take place at St James Anglican Church, Gbazango, Kubwa while the reception will be held at Country Side Hotel, near Domino Pizza, Gado Nasko Road, Kubwa, Abuja.
Commenting on the importance of cross cultural marriages to the socio-cultural development of Nigeria, Efue Itsemeasor had this to say, “Government ought to give special rewards to Esther and Chinedun. A lot of people don’t know or have forgotten that the underlying philosophy of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme is to, as a matter of policy, encourage marriages such as that of Bright and Esther”.
“Nigeria so seriously needs this type of marriages to free herself from nepotism and ethnocentrism “, he added.
