A philanthropist and prospective Chairman of Etsako-West local government area (LGA) of Edo State, Clement Igbafe Afekhena will, this September, give free Medicare and agro processing factory to his people in keeping with his avowal to wretch the citizens of the LGA from poverty.
A news release made available to ExpressDay Newspaper on Friday in Olele quarters, Iyuku-Uzairue disclosed that the event is the 4th edition of the aspirant’s welfarist initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of his people.
The program which includes giving of free books and desks to schools in the area is packaged under Clement Igbafe foundation and in honour of the young politician’s mother, Madam Mabel Azegbouno.
“This annual program, hatched in honour of my late mother, Madam Mabel Azegbouno Afekhena, is dedicated to empowering communities and improving lives”, the aspirant stated in the release.
In an interaction with this newspaper, the young , handsome and popular aspirant, averred that he considers an act of kindness as a practical way of genuine worship of God adding that Azegbouno inculcated this trait into him while she sojourned the earth.
“This is actually why I’m in politics, to eradicate poverty with government power. For me, this is the essence of governance “, he enthused.
A galaxy of dignitaries is expected at the empowerment program which will commence on Wednesday 24th and end on Sunday the 28th of September, 2025.
