A phylantropist and leading contender for the championship of Etsako-West local government area (LGA) election in Edo State, Clement Igbafe Afekhena has declared that his campaign has received a boost with endorsement of the unit heads of APC in his homestead, Iyuku-Uzairue.
In a release he personally signed and made available to ExpressDay Newspaper on Wednesday in Olele quarters, Iyuku-Uzairue, the young politician averred that the show of love and acceptance by his kit and kin is scarce these days.
The release with the hashtag # ClementIgbafe2026 stated in part, “upon hearing of my intention to officially declare my ambition to contest the Chairmanship of Etsako West Local Government in the July 2026 elections, the APC Unit Heads and Executives of Iyuku Community paid me a historic solidarity visit.
“It was a moment of joy and emotion as our elders offered prayers, our women pledged full grassroots mobilization, and our vibrant youths filled the air with songs of hope and solidarity. In a rare and powerful show of love, the Unit Heads and Executives went further to make personal financial donations in support of my ambition.
“This overwhelming endorsement is both humbling and inspiring. It strengthens my resolve to serve, not as a leader above the people, but as one raised by the people, rooted in their struggles, and committed to their progress.
“For years, I have championed people-driven leadership—through WAEC registrations for our students, free medical outreaches, provision of boreholes, and the donation of community buses to ease transportation. Today, my community has spoken loudly: they recognize past service and are investing their faith in a future of sustainable development, accountability, and shared prosperity.
“Iyuku has stood firmly with me, and together we shall walk this path of service. The journey to a greater Etsako West begins now”.
