The presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s quest to retain power at the federal level in 2023, received a boost on Tuesday as one of its aspirants during the Abia State governorship primaries, Chief Daniel Eke, paid a solidarity visit to the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) headquarters of the APC in Abuja.

Chief Eke said his visit was to reaffirm his commitment and support for the presidential candidate of his party, Ahmed Tinubu, and his running-mate, Kashim Shettima.

He assured the leadership of the presidential campaign council of the support of his own campaign organization which cuts across the 17 local governments and the 184 wards in Abia State.

He therefore, pledged to remain solidly behind the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket and shall continue to mobilize for its success until victory is officially announced come February 2023.

Chief Eke also used the occasion to remind the council of the lingering crisis that ensued sequel to the controversial governorship primary election conducted in Abia State.

He described it as one that was embedded in irregularities and incongruous conducts that are repugnant to the APC constitution and the Electoral Act.

He noted that he had called the attention of the party to intervene in the situation but had to seek redress in court when the leadership of the party at the national level failed to do anything over the situation.

Chief Eke, who described the election as a sham, made it clear that despite his grievances with the party, he remains a passionate and committed party man and does not want anything that will affect the votes of Asiwaju in Abia State, hence readiness to do the things that can secure victory for the candidate and the party.

Responding, the Secretary of the Tinubu-Shettima presidential campaign council, James Faleke, thanked Chief Eke for his show of love and commitment to Tinubu and the party at large and appreciated him for deciding to continue to work for the collective interest of the party not minding his grievances arising from the Abia primary election.

Accompanying Chief Eke during the visit to the PCC were Hon. Noble Agbaeze, the Director-General of Chief Daniel Eke Campaign Organization, other officers of the campaign organization and numerous supporters of Chief Daniel Eke.
