The Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has unveiled the cloth line to be used for the 2020 para powerlifting World Cup.
A statement by the Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity (Office of the First Lady), Aliyu Abdullahi, revealed that the competition will hold from the February 4-8, 2020, at the International Conference Center, Abuja.
The clothing line is meant to kit the Nigerian contingent including players and officials.
While unveiling the clothline, the wife of the President, expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness for the games.
She commended the effort of the Main and Local Organizing Committees as well as the sponsors of the games.
Speaking, Executive Secretary, the National Lottery Trust Fund, Dr. Bello Maigari, who are the sponsors of the clothline, said that sponsorship of sports is part of his organisation’s mandate.
He stated that the para powerlifting athletes have won laurels for Nigeria, hence, imperative that their effort of attracting the hosting rights to Nigeria be commended and supported.
He noted that the Fund accepted to kit them with the right apparel so that Nigeria will stand tall before other nations participating in the competition.
He commended the First Lady for being the grand patron and brand ambassador of the Nigerian Para Powerlifting and charged all Nigerians to ensure the success of the competition in order to make the country proud.
Earlier, President of the Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation, Mrs. Queen Uboh, said the unveiling of the clothing line is part of the activities preceding the commencement of the games.
